This policy explains which personal data Artifex processes when you visit this website, write to us or subscribe to our notes, why we do it and what rights you have. It is short because we collect very little.
Responsible for processing your data is:
Questions about data protection go to the same address.
The website runs on Vercel (Vercel Inc., USA). When you open a page, your browser sends the technical data every website receives: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the page you came from, and your browser and operating system. Vercel processes this data to deliver the site and protect it against attacks, and keeps the logs for a short time only. We do not use them to identify you.
On our contact page you can send us a message. We receive your name, your e-mail address, your message and, if you fill it in, your company. We use this to answer your message, and for nothing else. It reaches us by e-mail through Resend (Resend, Inc., USA), which also sends you a copy. If our e-mail service is unavailable, your own mail program opens a draft instead, and nothing is sent until you send it.
We keep messages for as long as we need them for the conversation and any project that follows, and longer only where the law requires us to keep business correspondence.
If you subscribe to our notes, we store your e-mail address, the language you chose and when you signed up and confirmed. You first receive an e-mail with a confirmation link, and only once you click it are you added to the list (double opt-in). The list is kept with Resend, which also sends the newsletter. Every issue has a link to unsubscribe, and you can simply write to us as well. Once you unsubscribe we send you nothing more, and we delete your address on request.
Our pages link to other websites, such as LinkedIn or YouTube. Nothing is loaded from those services while you are on our site. Once you follow a link, the other website's privacy policy applies.
Vercel and Resend are based in the USA and may process data there. We rely on the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified under it, and otherwise on the standard contractual clauses recognised by the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
We process your data under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, we rely on your request or a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), on your consent for the newsletter (Art. 6(1)(a)) and on our legitimate interest in a secure, working website (Art. 6(1)(f)).
You can ask us at any time which data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to its processing and withdraw a consent you have given, with effect for the future. Where the GDPR applies, you can also ask for your data in a common format. Just write to office@artifexai.ch. If you feel we are not handling your data properly, you can complain to the FDPIC in Switzerland or, if you live in the EU, to the data protection authority where you live.
We update this policy when our website or the law changes. The version on this page is always the one that applies.
